English Romantic Painter, 1769-1859 English painter and engraver. He was the most important animal painter of his generation. Many of his dynamic compositions depict horses, dogs or wild animals in agitated emotional states, the sense of movement being reinforced by vigorous brushwork and strong colours. With their sweeping landscapes and dramatic skies, his canvases epitomize Romanticism. Thomas Ruckle
was a house painter and sign painter in early nineteenth century Baltimore, Maryland, and an amateur painter. He is best known for his paintings The Battle of North Point, and The Defense of Baltimore. Ruckle was a veteran of the War of 1812, in which he had served as a corporal in the 5th Maryland Regiment of the Maryland Militia. Ruckle was born in Ireland and, having moved to Baltimore, Maryland, he became a sign painter and house painter. It is likely that he had very little, if any, formal training as an artist.
Willem Eversdijck
the son of Cornelis Eversdijck, flourished at Goes about the year 1660. He was a portrait painter, and several of his portraits were engraved by Houbraken. A picture of Officers and Members of the Company of Archers, called " Edele Voetboog," at Goes, by him, is in the Rotterdam Museum. Cornelis Willemsz Eversdijck, his father, was also a portrait painter of Goes, who died there in 1649. In the Rotterdam Museum are three pictures by him, representing Officers and Members of the Company of Archers, called "Edele Voetboog," at Goes; two of which are dated 1616 and 1624.
Frederick Garling
1775 - 1848,was an English attorney and solicitor, and was one of the first solicitors admitted in Australia and was regarded as the first senior solicitor of the second Supreme Court established in the colony of New South Wales, which is now a State of Australia. Garling is recognised as being one of the first crown solicitors in Australia.
